A0) | What is the latest version of the software | 1.3 is the latest. You
can check your version from the Help Menu \ About |
A1) | Where do I find free movies on the
internet? |
There is lots of of free content on the internet, which can be downloaded and converted to play on your mobile phone. For example, check out these cool websites |
1) | I keep getting "New DVD detected, verify the Title" or 'Runtime Error -214028239' or: "Error. Make sure the movie is playing...." |
1) Shutdown and restart your PC and try again. 2) Make sure you see the Main Movie playing in the preview window before you hit Action, not the menu screen or some intro clip. Right-click on the preview window and choose Zoom\Full Screen from the pop-up menu. This will allow you to pick the main movie easier. After you selected it, return to the windows size by right-clicking and choosing Exit Full Screen. 3) It may be caused by not having
the latest build of Windows Media Player installed, or your system needs
a DVD decoder pack. C) If you have the DVD decoder, it may be incorrectly registered. There's a small utility (called DecCheck) at Microsoft which allow you to check and reset the DVD drivers. Please download and install it. After installation you will find it on the C:\ drive, in the folder DECCHECK. Run the Deccheck utility. Click on the line that shows a DVD decoder (such as the Intervideo Video Decoder, or Cyberlink Video Decoder), and the press the 'SET AS PREFFERED'-button. That will restore the DVD drivers so that Windows Media Player can use them. After you reset the codec in Windows Media Player, you should also re-install our software. D) If you don't have a software DVD
player, you need to download
a DVD decoder component |
2) | Mobile Media Maker hangs after Step 1. It will not start Step 2. |
|
3) | The sound of the final My Video.avi file has silence gaps or: error "Sample not found, or audio decoding error" |
|
4) | The sound is out of sync with the video. It seems to lag 2 seconds. |
|
5) | There is no sound at all in the final My Video.avi file (or the wrong language dub), or: I'm getting 'Sample Not Found'. |
'Sample not found' is an informative message, warning you that you may have forgotten to choose the right soundtrack, or the wrong soundtrack (such as directors commentary), Solution: 1. Open the DVD 2. Select the Title (the one with the longest duration) 3. Choose DVD Menu \ Extra Features 4. In the window that opens, locate ‘Sound Settings’, select ‘Audio Dub’ and change it to AC2 (or to the right language). Check or uncheck the option ‘Dolby Surround’, try all combination of audio settings and keep doing Test Run from the DVD Menu until you find the right combination. |
6) | I'm getting a Runtime Error 429. Software doesn't start or doesn't go to step2. |
|
7) |
|
|
8) | "There seems to be no DVD in the drive", but the disc is in. | 1) The software can't find the disc index. 2) Click on My Computer and check if Windows XP sees the disc at all (the title should show). It should look like this: If you see "DVD Drive" without title, Windows XP doesn't recognise the disc. Try completely restarting the PC. Or: 3) Your disk maybe dirty or scratched, causing the DVD drive not to recognize it. Try cleaning it. 4) The disc index can't be found automatically. Solution: browse to the drive with the disc, double-click it, select the VIDEO_TS folder on the DVD disc. Press OK. |
9) | Some movies are bigger than 128 Mb and don't fit on my memorycard. | 1) Your movie is longer then 100 minutes. This is the maximum length in 128 Mb mode. You need a bigger card, or you'll have to chop the movie in two parts, using the DVD Menu > Start/Stop feature. |
10) | Can't install the software |
|
11) | The final, converted movie looks jagged particularly during horizontal movements. For example, this screenshot: |
|
12) | I'm trying to convert a video file, but it won't convert, it crashes, or it has no sound. | The software converts most AVI, MPEG and DV video files, however, there are video files that use non-standard file formats and compression techniques (so called 'codecs'), which our software does not natively support. Try downloading a codec package, such as the K-Lite Codecs, to extend the media subsystem of your PC with many exotic codecs. |
13) | ||
14) | ‘Runtime error: 6. Buffer overflow’ |
|
15) | ‘Audio format not supported ‘DTS’. |
|

18) | Norton Anti-Virus or Firewall software reports Mobile Media Maker accesing the internet. | Our software seeks access to the Internet
on the following occasions:
All other firewall alerts are false. Our software does NOT connect to the internet to store or process information about your system, your personal data, your video files or DVDs. |
19) | My DVD looks squeezed, zoomed or stretched on my mobile phone. Or: there are always black stripes on top and bottom. | Mobile phone screens and a movie theater screen aren't the same shape. Movie screens are much wider. Today, films generally come in one of two basic widescreen sizes (called aspect ratios): 'Academy Standard' (aspect ratio 1.85:1), and 'Anamorphic Scope' (aspect ratio 2.35:1). Films in 'Academy' are widescreen (like English Patient, Toy Story or Silence of the Lambs), but do not appear quite as wide as Scope films (like Star Wars, Lawrence of Arabia, or Apollo 13). TV and home movies have an aspect ratio of 4:3. Our software uses zooming and averaging techniques to fit as much from the movie and TV content on the phone screen, and at the same time cut as little from the original. This will always have to be a compromise between viewing size and best representation of the original dimensions. |
